Sachin Tendulkar Misses 100th Century Again

India resumed Day 4 of the 3rd test against West Indies in Mumbai on 281/3 and lost VVS Laxman in the second over of the day. But all eyes were on Sachin Tendulkar who was nearing his 100th century. Resuming from his overnight score of 67* Sachin Tendulkar started in aggressive fashion and flicked Ravi Rampaul for four in the first over, before quietly playing the over from Fiedel Edwards and scoring a single.

Sachin Tendulkar then showed power in the 84th over when he squeezed out 14 runs off Fiedel Edwards to get into 90s. Those 14 runs came with two doubles one four and one upper cut that sailed over the slips for six.

But the crowd at Wankhede was stunned when Ravi Rampaul managed to get an edge off Tendulkar’s bat and Darren Sammy took a sharp catch at second slip to send the master blaster back on 94 only 6 short of centuries of century.

With this miss attempt Tendulkar now hasn’t scored a century for 235 days, as he last scored a one day century against South Africa on March 12 2011 during World Cup 2011.
